I am happy to answer some FAQ’s on my personal styling services.
Please reach out if you’re wondering about something that I haven’t covered here.
Q. Do I have to shop with you?
A. Not initially, but I ask that you meet me at the store to try on clothing. I show up 1-2 hours before our appointment and reserve a dressing room, filling it with clothing that works with your style, skin tone, and budget. When you arrive at the store, you try on all the clothes see what works and what doesn’t.
Q. Why is your service better than a box service like Trunk Club?
A. My approach is so much more personal than any box service could ever be. Typically, box services offer the same clothing to everyone because that is what they have in their inventory to sell. When we work together, I take the time to get to know you and your style, so that you end up with a wardrobe that you feel confident represents what you are all about.
Q. How much of my time will the personal shopping take?
A. On average a personal shopping trip usually takes 2-4 hours of your time, but it varies depending on how many items you are looking to add to your wardrobe. I am very aware of your time and money while we are together, so I make the process as efficient and painless as possible.
Q. Do I need a closet edit first?
A. No. A closet edit is helpful if you would like me to consider the clothing that you already own, but this service does not always precede a shopping experience..
Q. Do we have to go out shopping more than once to get a whole new wardrobe?
A. If you’ve had changes in your personal or professional life and want a whole new wardrobe, I suggest we shop once now to buy clothes based on the current season and shop again when the weather changes. During the initial shopping experience, I focus on finding the basics and recommend adding a few layering pieces that highlight your style.
Q. Are styling services only for guys that have a lot of money?
A. Absolutely not. If you’re working with a tight budget, I will accommodate you by shopping at discount stores, so you get quality merchandise for your money.
Q. How do you take my own style into consideration?
A. During the initial style consultation, I ask you several questions about your style, the colors and patterns you prefer, as well as where you typically shop. This gives me a good idea of what you like to wear and how you like to present yourself. If I need additional direction, I may send you links to men’s outfits or ask that you to share a Pinterest board with me that features styles or clothing that you like.
Q. How does the payment work?
A. My styling services are based on an hourly rate of $165 and my preferred payment is by cash, check, Venmo, PayPal and Zelle. I also accept credit cards if the other forms of payment don’t work for you.
